INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE
On April 16-17th, the University College of Economics and Culture (UCEC) in cooperation with Alberta College (AC) organized international scientific conference “Creating Shared Value in Knowledge Based Society: Expertise, Innovation, Continuity” where participated quests from Walsh College and other countries.
The 1st day of the conference started with plenary meeting followed by work in sections. On the second day followed panel discussion about the topic “Competitiveness in Latvia’s higher education – pro and contra”. In the conclusion of each day participants received valuable prizes from sponsors: KokaRota, Rozes Bode, „Meduspils”, and „Skrīveru saldumi”.
Laura Kalniņa, first year student of the UCEC Translation and Interpretation program, about the conference: “Competent representatives of their sphere could be heard both in plenary meeting and sections. It was interesting to hear what people, who already do not study, think about students’ issues, e.g. places for practice.”
