Students of all programs are invited to participate in the hackathon MediaHack 2021
From June 3 to 6 this year, an international online hackathon MediaHack 2021 will be held in Latvia, dedicated to the field of media. We face the challenges of social media giant dominance, fake news and existing media business models, so we need bold and innovative solutions to make media credible, engaging and accessible to everyone. In Hakaton, students from all universities and programs are invited to work on solutions that will improve or even change the way media content is created and consumed. Experienced business, technology, design and media experts will help teams achieve better results. Teams will have the opportunity to compete for a prize fund of EUR 3000 to develop the idea after the hackathon.
The goal of the hatchet or idea marathon is to create innovative ideas in the field of media within 48 hours, to assess the business potential of ideas and to create interdisciplinary teams that are able to implement these ideas in life. Ideas can be submitted in four categories: "Media Content Creation", "Media Content Distribution", "Interactive and Inclusive Media Content" and "Future Media".
This is an opportunity for each participant to discover their potential, share ideas, gain new like-minded people and help solve issues that are important to society. The challenges of this hackathon are related to media content and its impact on all of us. Working together as a team on one of the challenges will not only broaden your horizons, but you will probably also find your future calling!
In order to better prepare the participants of MediaHack 2021, two webinars will be organized before the hackathon, which will discuss the challenges in the field of media (May 19) and trends in media technologies (May 26). Artificial intelligence, 5G technologies, augmented and virtual reality - these are just some of the technologies that will change the way media content is created and consumed.
Participation in MediaHack 2021 is free of charge, and anyone can register for the event until June 2, with or without their own idea. Pre-created teams can apply, while those who apply individually will have the opportunity to create a new one or join one of the teams.
