EKA ANNUAL SURVEYS

EKA University of Applied Sciences conducts annual surveys to identify needs, monitor changes, and inform improvements in education, working conditions, and institutional practices. Covering sustainability literacy, staff well-being and satisfaction, inclusivity and diversity, and research careers, these studies connect institutional development with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and EKA’s research priorities.

Well-being Annual Survey
The annual well-being survey of EKA researchers and academic staff, focusing on burnout symptoms, work organisation and productivity, available resources, and health-supporting practices. Its methodology combines the Burnout Assessment Tool (BAT-12) with questionnaire blocks adapted from leadership productivity and Health-Oriented Leadership approaches, informed by Conservation of Resources theory. By examining individual experiences alongside working conditions, the survey helps identify overload risks and priorities for institutional support, recovery, and sustainable working practices. It supports EKA’s research direction “Well-being in Life and Well-being at Work” and aligns with SDG 3 “Good Health and Well-being” and SDG 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”.
