Results of the project were presented at the closing event of the VILESA project in Vilnius

On May 14 and 15, 2024, the final meeting and conference of the VILESA project took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, during which the achieved results were discussed and the developed learning virtual reality (VR) tools were tested and presented to a wider audience. During the implementation of the project, nine VR classes as learning tools have been developed in English and in the languages of the partner countries: Lithuanian, Polish, and Latvian. Two VR classes were created by the EKA University of Applied Sciences: Circular Economy and Culture Project Management.

On the first day of the meeting, the project partners discussed the course of the project, the results achieved, and the final activities that still needed to be implemented. The next day, all involved partners from Lithuania, Poland, and Latvia presented their work to a wider audience, while the developed digital learning tools were tested by students.

This event was hosted by the lead partner of the VILESA project, Vilnius University of Applied Sciences (Vilniaus Kolegija, VIKO). EKA was represented by the vice-rector of sciences and international cooperation, Prof. Jelena Titko, project manager of the Scientific Institution of the university, Kaspars Steinbergs, director of the master study program "Circular Economy and Social Entrepreneurship," Edgars Cerkovskis, as well as Andrejs Birzgals, lecturer of the Game Design program.

More information about the project and the developed results can be found on its website: https://vilesa.viko.lt.

VILESA project’s goal is to solve the problems of application of modern teaching/learning methods in social sciences by digitizing the study content by using Virtual reality platform. The application of modern technologies to the digitization of study content encourages creativity and creates opportunities for users to get involved in the content creation process themselves. Encouraging creativity, adapting content to the younger generation of learners (Generation Z) is based on developing practical skills while reducing environmental impact and contributing to business sustainability. The project is intended to reinforce and sustain such positive behavioral trends.

VILESA is financed and supported by the European Commission, Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 – Cooperation partnerships in higher education (grant agreement No. 2021-1-LT-01-KA220-HED-000023551).
