MEMBERSHIP: ENCATC
European network on cultural management and policy (ENCATC) represents, promotes, and advances the fields of cultural management and cultural policy education, research, and practice, enhancing an inclusive, sustainable, and democratic development of arts and culture for the benefit of society.
ENCATC has more than 150 participants all over the world.
The association’s aims are the development of training for cultural managers in Europe, the development of cultural management, and co-operation between centres organising this training, in particular in a European context.
To achieve the above, the association undertakes the following activities:
- provides opportunities and encourage the training of trainers through staff and information exchange, seminars, etc. between members;
- facilitates the exchange of information between the various centres offering training in cultural administration;
- identifies and supports areas of research which are of common interest to members;
- organises projects and activities that contribute to the association’s goals;
- organises the Annual General Assembly and Conference; • advises European institutions on information and training policies in the field of cultural administration;
- represents the interests of European cultural administration training centres at a European level.

News and events
2025. September 17–19. The ENCATC 2025 Congress was held in Barcelona, bringing together cultural policy, management and education professionals, researchers and policymakers from all over the world. This year′s theme — “The Future Is Cultural: Policy, Practice, and Education” — was dedicated to the importance of culture in sustainable development processes and its role in strengthening the well-being of society.
The EKA University of Applied Sciences was represented at the congress by Artūrs Homins, Director of the Master′s study program “International Cultural Project Management”, who participated in discussions on the development of cultural education, exchange of experience and international cooperation in the field of cultural project management.
