GREENENTRE4DEAF project idea and goals were introduced to representatives from 14 countries
During the annual International Academic Week (IAW 2025) organised by the EKA University of Applied Sciences (EKA), EKA Scientific Institution projects manager Kaspars Šteinbergs introduced the idea and goals of the GREENENTRE4DEAF project, as well as the progress of its implementation, to representatives of the academic staff from 14 countries. IAW 2025 was attended by participants from Austria, Colombia, the Czech Republic, the Dominican Republic, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovenia, Turkey, and the USA.
During the presentation, a video interview with Santa Beitāne, the board member of the social enterprise “Mobilising", was shown, in which Edgars Cerkovskis, director of the EKA study program “Circular Economy and Social Entrepreneurship”, discussed the experience of including deaf and hard-of-hearing people in the labour market. The interview provided attendees with a more profound insight into the idea of the GREENENTRE4DEAF project and the social problems it will resolve.
