ECO-ESCAPER Kick-off Meeting Addresses Key Organisational Issues

On 17 December 2025, the kick-off meeting of the international project ECO-ESCAPER was held online. During the meeting, key organisational issues were discussed and various implementation details were clarified. The meeting was attended by project partners from Germany, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Italy, Türkiye, and Latvia.

At the beginning of the virtual meeting, participants introduced the consortium partner institutions they represent. This was followed by a discussion of the project’s main documents and the role of the ECO-ESCAPER coordinator – the International University of Valencia (Spain) – in project administration. The participants also agreed on the most effective methods for internal communication.

Subsequent discussions focused on the implementation timeline of all five work packages and the distribution of responsibilities among the partners. Attention was also given to the project budget and the principles governing the allocation of funding across different activities.

The meeting concluded with a discussion of other minor organisational matters.

EKA University of Applied Sciences was represented at the meeting by Dr oec. Jeļena Titko, Vice-Rector for Research, and Dr oec. Kaspars Šteinbergs, Project Manager of the EKA Research Institution.

Project Overview

The aim of ECO-ESCAPER is to enhance climate literacy among students in European secondary schools in line with the European Union’s 2030 climate and energy targets. To achieve this goal, the project will provide teachers with innovative tools and methods, with a particular focus on the use of digital escape rooms to make climate education more immersive, interactive, and effective.

The project brings together eight partners from various European countries.
