Economics and Culture College Implements Innovative Waste Sorting System After Visit to ProFiks Company

Riga, September 7, 2023

The administration of the Economics and Culture College has gained valuable experience and an opportunity to take a significant step in the field of sustainability after visiting the ProFiks company. During this visit, discussions were held regarding waste management and sorting issues, leading to an important decision - the introduction of an innovative waste sorting station within the college premises.

This initiative is inspired by the modern and efficient waste-sorting methods offered by ProFiks. The ability to sort waste within the college premises is a stride towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly operation.

In addition to installing the station, the Economics and Culture College has also initiated a research project to evaluate the possibilities of placing such stations in other Latvian offices and companies. This research will encompass technical aspects, sustainability impact, as well as economic factors associated with the utilization of such stations.

Edgars Čerkovskis, the director of the Circular Economy and Social Entrepreneurship Program, commented on this decision: "We are delighted with this collaboration with ProFiks and the opportunity to introduce an innovative waste sorting system within our premises. This step aligns with our sustainability goals and reflects our commitment to environmentally friendly practices. We are also proud to offer our contribution to the promotion of sustainable development in Latvian business and society by offering this solution to other offices and companies."

This move demonstrates the Economics and Culture College′s commitment to improving waste management and promoting sustainable entrepreneurship in Latvia. It also sets a positive example for other educational institutions and businesses on how to invest in a more environmentally friendly future."
