Circular STEM Final Meeting in Bilbao
On 1–2 July 2025, Dr. oec. Kaspars Šteinbergs, Project Manager of the Scientific Institution of the EKA University of Applied Sciences, participated in the final meeting of the partners of the Erasmus+ project “Circular STEM.” The meeting took place at the Politeknika Txorierri training centre in Bilbao, Spain. Partners from the project’s partner countries participated in the meeting, both in person and remotely.
The project aimed to strengthen the understanding of sustainability and the circular economy in STEM education by developing innovative teaching materials for teachers and students.
The main tasks of the meeting:
- Finalise the Circular STEM Academy Toolbox—a set of digital tools for teachers, which includes interactive lessons, videos, tests, creative tasks, and games that help to understand the principles of the circular economy in STEM subjects;
- Evaluate the project’s results, quality, and sustainability potential;
- Prepare final reports, policy recommendations, and documentation;
- Share experiences and recommendations on integrating the project into school practice.
The meeting also allowed participants to learn about the robotics lab, FabLab, and the local approach to sustainable vocational education.
Thank you to the Politeknika Txorierri team for the warm welcome and inspiring cooperation!
This meeting concludes the project phase, but discussions about circular thinking and innovation in STEM education will certainly continue.
