EKA Marketing Students Successfully Apply Their Acquired Knowledge
Students from the EKA study programme "Marketing" successfully applied their acquired knowledge by creating social media content for an international project. For three months, the young marketing specialists managed the media activities of the GREENENTRE4DEAF project. The project is implemented in cooperation with EKA and partners from Spain, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, and Lithuania, and is funded by the EU Erasmus+ programme. Its aim is to promote the inclusion of people with hearing impairments in green entrepreneurship by developing specialised educational programmes and innovative training methods, as well as introducing green entrepreneurship terminology in sign language.
The content was created as part of the study course "Marketing Planning" under the guidance of lecturer Dr. oec. Ksenija Ijevļeva. Regular publications were maintained on the GREENENTRE4DEAF social media accounts, using visual materials created by the students themselves. The posts primarily focused on the importance of knowledge in areas such as green and social entrepreneurship, the circular economy, efficient use of renewable energy, sustainable design, and environmentally friendly lifestyles. A key message of the publications highlighted the lack of equal educational and employment opportunities for deaf people in many important Green sectors.
The communication team consisted of second-year bachelor’s programme "Marketing" students, who also received certificates from the GREENENTRE4DEAF project management. The team members were Agnese Janoviča, Mareks Reins, Katrīna Baluka, Amanda Paula Sadovska, Estere Smilteniece, Rihards Podans, Olga Lungina, Ance Spolīte, and Anna Sotņikova.
