Emerging Trends in Economics, Culture and Humanities (etECH)

ETECH 2026 SUMMARY
On 22–23 April 2026, EKA University of Applied Sciences, in cooperation with Alberta College, Ferris State University, Sumy State University, the Baltic Circular Eco-System Association, the European Marketing and Management Association (EUMMAS), the European Digital Learning Network (Dlearn), the New Door Social Entrepreneurship Accelerator, and the Latvian Association of Economists, organised the International Scientific Conference “Emerging Trends in Economics, Culture and Humanities” (etECH2026).
This was the 10th anniversary edition of the etECH conference, bringing together participants from Armenia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Turkey, Ukraine, and the USA, who presented their research results in twelve parallel sessions:

Since 2019, EKA acts as a co-organizer of the International Economic Forum https://economicforum.lv/
The International Economic Forum (I.E.F) is an international platform for collaboration between scientists, entrepreneurs and politicians that organized by the Institute of Economics of the Latvian Academy of Sciences https://eilza.lv/ . The Forum emphasizes international cooperation and plays a key role in shaping global economic trends, promoting sustainable practices, and fostering science-based solutions for future prosperity.

Dlearn Satellite Conferences
Since 2023 EKA has been actively co-organizing and co-hosting various activities, such as satellite conferences, webinars, and other events with DLearn.
The European Digital Learning Network (Dlearn) is a non-profit organization addressing digital transformation challenges, skills gaps, and learning opportunities. It fosters sharing, networking, and advocacy to bridge local voices with EU policies. Through project labs, lobbying, and knowledge exchange, DLEARN enhances digital education and business opportunities. Its working groups monitor and promote the latest trends, supporting transnational initiatives to boost digital learning and skills at both local and European levels.

On 29 and 30 May 2026, the EKA University of Applied Sciences, in cooperation with Alberta College, organised the International Scientific Practical Student Conference “INVENTIO 2026”.

EDUCATIONAL-METHODICAL CONFERENCE 2026
On 29 January 2026, the annual Teaching Methodology Conference took place, organised by Alberta College and the EKA University of Applied Sciences. This year’s conference focused on modern teaching methods and the use of artificial intelligence in the study process, while also emphasising the ethical and legal aspects of the academic environment.

- Practical solutions implemented within the Erasmus+ Small-Scale Partnership Project No. 2024-2-LV01-KA210-VET-000280127, including the integration of digital and artificial intelligence tools into the design and implementation of study courses.
- Masterclass: How to transform your course into a multimodal learning experience; how to integrate CLIL elements without fully restructuring the course; using artificial intelligence tools for designing assignments and assessments; increasing student engagement in the online learning environment.
